লাবণ্য চলে গেছে শােভনলালের নিবেদিত প্রেমকে সার্থক করতে, আর অমিত ফিরে এসেছে তার পূর্ব প্রণয়ী কেতকীর কাছে। মাঝে অমিত লাবণ্যর সে মধুর সান্নিধ্য মধুর ভাব বিনিময়ের অবসানে সূক্ষ্ম স্মৃতির ধারকরূপে শেষের কবিতাটি বড়াই মূল্যবান। তাই শেষের কবিতাটি যে উপন্যাসের নামকরণকে যথার্থ সার্থক করে তুলেছে বলাই বাহুল্য।
